SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 XXXXX

Water, Water, Everywhere

Let’s play a memory game. In Exquisite Corpse Company’s performative exhibition, Water, Water, Everywhere step into the lives of people from the past and future. Four overlapping story-lines unfold in an immersive, interdisciplinary experience inspired by Governors Island’s past inside a historic house that was once a home.

Water Water Everywhere is an intimate immersive performance that takes the audience on a whirlwind of time, space, and environment. In the multiple worlds of this play, ECC has recreated the past, reimagined the present, and hopes to find the future. The audience is split up into small groups, each experiencing the story with different characters from different times. You will meet twins from the 1800s, a family in both 1996 and 2019, a girl from the future, and a questionable house spirit who doesn’t live in any one particular time at all.

Over the course of 75 minutes, the audience experiences movement, songs, projections, holograms and installations. This site-specific piece challenges the audience to consider what is happening in our local water environment of New York City and how environmental crises can be felt at a personal level. ECC hopes to bring water environmental awareness to its audiences with a salty twist, of course.

This production takes place in a non-traditional venue. As per Governors Island, there is no running water and there are no restrooms in our immediate venue. Bathrooms on the island can be found near both the Manhattan & Brooklyn ferry terminals, along with various portable toilets all over the island. Additionally, please remember that is is early fall and temperatures can be high - we suggest that you dress accordingly and bring water. Please also note that audience will be asked to climb stairs, and, as such, the show is not handicap accessible.

My Dentist's Son First Anniversary Celebration

We're celebrating our first birthday with a very special curated show of memorable tales drawn from our first year of circles. Guests from around the country are returning to share their tales, once again, of profound mystical experience.

There are stories in our lives that don't exactly fit. Magical occurrences that challenge our notion of reality, synchronicities nearly impossible to fathom, and otherworldly experiences that defy the boundaries of what we think is possible. Our narratives of life have little room for these anecdotes, regardless of their beauty or significance. My Dentist's Son is a place for stories that don't fit. A support group for mystical experiences.
